Feather-light, dust of time's decay, In memories' grip, we find our way, Beneath the star-laden sky, Waves of longing in my mind's eye.   Heady, intoxicating, these recollections, A solitary figure in life's intersections, Lost within the fields of golden rye , Where nostalgia and solitude intertwine.   Each feather, a whisper of days long past, In the dust, their stories forever cast, Glimmering stars above, a cosmic sea, Yet in my head, these waves will be.   Alone, I stand, 'midst the amber sea, In the rye of memories, just me, A critical heart, aching to know, Where did those fleeting moments go? - Sumitra

Closure?

"Real closure is being okay with the messiness of life — with people who drift away, conversations that end mid-thought, conclusions that remain untidy, arguments left unresolved, and goodbyes that never find their voice — and still discovering peace in the silence of what is." 23/12/2024

I knew you were trouble

I think... I think when it's all over it just comes back in flashes, you know? It's like a kaleidoscope of memories, it just all comes back. But he never does. I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen. It's not really anything he said or anything he did, it was the feeling that came along with it. And the crazy thing is I don't know if I'm ever gonna feel that way again, but I don't know if I should. I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright, but I just thought, how can the devil be pulling you toward someone who looks so much like an angel when he smiles at you? Maybe he knew that when he saw me. I guess I just lost my balance. I think that the worst part of it all wasn't losing him, it was losing me.

Alchemy

Took my heart..tore it to shreds I gathered the bits and tied them with threads Wove it with dreams It had no seams He give it a tug It came undone. Revealed a tapestry Of colours so bright The rainbow up there Looked just so pale I shone like gold Never to be undone or untold

There's so much she's left behind.. As she grew up. She's surrendered her maverick self to impositions of dignified bearing Or molded the tom-boy into the girl with an impish grin As she loves, cares, hugs and 'grows' us up Leaving her 'self' alone. There's still that part of her That loves to do just that So Moms, be you again! #MomBeAGirlAgain
“I hate to hear you talk about all women as if they were fine ladies instead of rational creatures. None of us want to be in calm waters all our lives.” - Jane Austen, Persuasion
Why shed a tear for one not worth the salt? Anxious for one not worth a halt? Took my heart out Ripped it to shreds. I Wiped it with tears Tied it with threads Am not alone Sad and forlone Look at my life It's talking to me Singing a song As my spirit flows free.

Work-Is it all that matters to you? Part 2

Th e little bird sighed, “Oh me, oh my!   How they will laugh if I try to fly.   If I flutter and flop, or tumble and fall,   Will the creatures all laugh at me, clumsy and small?”       But the sun shone down with a kindly face   “Just try and soon you will fly with grace.”   The bird practised hard never minding to fall,   And now the great eagle flies highest of all. Paul King Continuing my story from where I had left it..I studied in a newly 'autonomous' college with good resources. Being in the capital was an advantage. Moreover, I was studying a subject that was relatively new in India, but I got 'uhmms' and discernable 'tchchs' from uncles who were doctors and engineers. It wasn't "Science' or a B.Tech! Really! neither did I care, nor did my parents. I had a great time at college. I attended all classes!(in an Arts course, students consider it against the rules to do so!), we were a great bunch of friends, who shopped and had meals...

I've Been Losing Sleep

Counting Stars" ONE REPUBLIC-COUNTING STARS [Chorus:] Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things that we could be But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars Yeah, we'll be counting stars [Verse 1:] I see this life like a swinging vine, Swing my heart across the line In my face is flashing signs, Seek it out and ye shall find. Old but I'm not that old Young but I'm not that bold And I don't think the world is sold I'm just doing what we're told And I I I I feel something so right by doing the wrong thing And I I I I feel something so wrong by doing the right thing I could lie, couldn't I, couldn't I? Every thing that kills me makes me feel alive. [Chorus:] Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep Dreaming about the things that we could be But, baby I've been, I've been praying hard Said no more counting dollars, we'll be co...

Work..is it all that matters to you? My story-Part 1

I had never been told by my parents that certain forms of 'work' were not for girls or women. Infact, I had done most of the chores boys usually do around the house-like changing bulbs, painting, minor electical repairs, shopping, paying bills, running errands etc. To many of you, this may seem normal, but, I was brought up in a small town where 6 p.m. was curfew time in college, half the 'Nagar' or locality seemed like an extended family and girls in the neighbourhood knew which new dress I wore on which day to college😅. In a town like Bhubaneswar, most girls were to 'have' a 'degree',i.e. to be a graduate atleast. This rendered them suitable for marriage! The other lot included girls like me,who studied for the love of it. Graduation-the degree gave me a solid foundation for my future. We had very good teachers, but,I would have loved to study in LSR or DU. I made a promise to myself to get what's best in the next phase-Post graduation. Graduation in S...

This is just how I feel-The lyrics of the song say it best

Am I wrong for thinking out the box from where I stay? Am I wrong for saying that I choose another way? I ain't tryna do what everybody else doing Just 'cause everybody doing what they all do If one thing I know, I'll fall but I'll grow I'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home So am I wrong For thinking that we could be something for real? Now am I wrong For trying to reach the things that I can't see?
